Back in 2006, the Icecats hockey team was not actually endorsed by BYU and was it’s own separate Club team. This explains why they needed to resort a lame Bosmo character costume, instead of using Cosmo himself. Here is an excerpt from Wikipedia:
Ice Hockey has been a part of BYU for many years, but at the beginning of the 2007/2008 season, the formally known Provo IceCats, a club team comprised of Brigham Young Students which had been around since 1994, finally gained recognition as an official sport at BYU. Upon being officially recognized, the Cougar hockey team began proudly representing their school by wearing the BYU logo on their uniforms, and gaining full access to university facilities. Although the team is officially recognized and sponsored by the university, it will continue to be funded by donors and private individuals.
As far as the photographer goes, here is the message I received on October 17, 2006:
Hello,
I got your contact info from the provo website…after looking at your post re. the student reality show. I am working for the newspaper in provo and interested in talking to you about doing some photos/story. Could you please contact me via email or by phone at ***/***-****.
best,
melissa
I think it’s obvious she had no idea what THE PLACE really was, because a story was never written about it. And how COULD it?! All she had was a bunch of pictures of some goofy kid with a camcorder recording all of his crazy friends. Where’s the story in that!?

That poor photographer lady… she had no idea what hit her. Needless to say, I was pretty embarrassed by that whole thing.
“This is my first Thundercats game and I’m excited.” hahaha. I forgot that’s what I called them.
